The 3 Mobile network has responded to the launch of Skype services on the iPhone – by reminding people it was there first.
It was noted by the carrier that although access to cheaper calls and messages is a welcome addition to Apple‘s 3G handset, a number of people have already been enjoying this on its range of devices since 2006.
The firm took the opportunity to highlight the current pricing structure it has in place for people interested in taking advantage of its Skype offering.
“Skype is available on all of our tariffs at 3, which start from as little as £9 per month,” the network said. “Skype is also available to all of our Pay as you Go customers – they just need to top up every 90 days to keep their sim active.”
Three special handsets were highlighted as ideal for use with Skype such as the INQ1, the original 3 Skypephone and the Skypephone S2.
