Oppo announces Australian availability for Find X

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo has confirmed it is bringing its flagship Find X smartphone to Australia, with the premium device now available in stores.
The Find X is on sale exclusively through JB Hi-Fi and will cost $1,099. For this, buyers will get 128GB of storage space, 8GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 845 processor.
However, the biggest attraction for many users is likely to be its display and how it makes use of its cameras. The Find X comes with a 6.4-inch screen with one of the thinnest bezels on the market – giving it a screen-to-body ratio of 93.8 per cent.
It is able to achieve this because, unlike many other thin-bezel displays such as the Apple iPhone X, it doesn't have a notch cutting out a chunk of the screen in order to hold the front-facing camera. Instead, the Oppo Find X's cameras are hidden away when not in use, and appear from a pop-up at the top of the device when needed.
Oppo has always made quality photography a priority, and the Find X is no different. Its 25MP front-facing camera should offer users the sharpest selfies and its advanced AI can intelligently analyse a range of features to personalise your photos.
What's more, the camera also functions as a 3D facial scanner, allowing for biometric security that lets you unlock the device and authenticate mobile payments using only your face.
Michael Tran, managing director at Oppo Australia, said: “We’re excited to announce the availability of the Oppo Find X in Australia. The device will be sure to challenge what Aussie consumers think is possible with a smartphone and shows what Oppo is capable of.”
He added that the Find series reflects Oppo's “relentless efforts” to create smartphones that push the boundaries of what's possible.
“The Find X continues this trend and has delivered a completely new design to the Australian smartphone market that will resonate with Aussie consumers and challenge the status quo,” Mr Tran continued.
